The web plugin does not work with many internet browsers anymore, ever since certain protocols have become unsupported. The only way I can get the plugin working is to use Microsoft Internet Explorer (11.124), which is probably not that useful for considering you are a MAC user!
The security cameras in my building are connected to an Everfocus dvr. We'd like to access the dvr through the web browser of any given computer on our local network. The dvr is already physically connected to the network via ethernet, and I've configured the unit to the best of my ability (accessed the onboard network setup screen, and configured it for DHCP, with the gateway and dns using our SBS 2003 Server ip.
Afterward, the dvr was automatically assigned its own ip, which matched the numbering convention of our network). I can ping this ip, but I can't connect via browser. If I try, I get an Error Code 10061: Connection refused. The manual mentions opening ports 80, 1600, 3.
Maybe that's the problem, but I don't really know how to do this using ISA. I tried creating an http rule for the dvr's ip, but it did nothing.
If the DVR is connected to your internal LAN then you shouldn't need to make any configuration in ISA server. In your web browser check if you have a proxy setting configured. In internet explorer go to Tools / Internet Options / Connections Tab, Lan Settings button and see if the proxy has a setting. You should be use the feature to Bypass proxy for local addresses. If needed Click the advanced button and you can enter the IP address of the DVR in the Exceptions area.
Also, you may need to adjust the Internet Explorer security settings if your DVR requires Active-X to be installed inside our browser. In the Tools / Internet Options / Security Tab / trusted sites click the Sites button and add the URL for your DVR in there.
Then in the bottom you might need to click the Custom button and adjust the settings for Active-X related items. Set to Prompt should be enough.
